This was an excellent climb, which looked a lot harder than it actually was.
Unfortunately, it's not very clean, so you have to be careful. Aaron led, and
managed to place gear on the tough-looking first section without falling. (The
gear potential is excellent; it's being able to place it while leading without
getting totally pumped that's tricky. Aaron managed to find excellent rests
from which to place gear.) I followed, and also got through the hard part with
no trouble. As I said, it's easier than it looks. But in the middle of it, a
large chunk of rock nearly broke off when I grabbed it, and just a little
higher up, past the crux, I grabbed a chunk that did break off. (Naturally I
fell, which sucked, because I was happy that I was going to finish the climb
cleanly.) We also saw and/or dislodged many smaller loose flakes on the way up
and on the way down. Bottom line: great climb, but tons of loose shit. Be
careful.
