This was the last of the super-classic moderate routes at Red Rocks that I
hadn't yet climbed, so it's been on my list for a while. Danielle and I got up
at 5:15, and although we were the very first car at the entrance gate to the
loop road, someone pulled ahead of us while we were waiting, and as luck would
have it, they happened to be climbing the same route. They beat us to the base
by a few minutes, but altogether they didn't slow us down much. The climbing on
this route was mostly fun and easy, and I ran it out quite a bit on every
pitch. The tunnel was especially fun. We reached the top just a little after
noon, and were back to the car before 3:30. I could have been up for another
short climb, but I could tell Danielle was tired, and we wanted to go back to
camp and see if we could find a “legal” campsite, so we decided to
call it a day.
