This was a fun day. I led each pitch with my new double ropes, and Steven and
John followed. I belayed them up using the autoblock feature of my new ATC
Guide, so that they could climb simultaneously. This worked quite well. At
Lunch Ledge, we met up with Aaron and Danielle, who had climbed Angel's Fright
(5.6 **) and we all shared a huge gourmet lunch: pita bread with two kinds of
hummus and olive spread, focaccia bread sandwiches with brie, prosciutto,
tomato, sprouts, and avocado, and ice cold lemonade to drink. We even had a
quarter of a watermelon for dessert, although by the time we finished
everything else we were too full! We saved the watermelon until we got to the
summit one pitch later, then snacked and organized gear in the shade. It was a
HOT day!
