These are two parallel cracks that are about two feet apart at the base, but get a little bit farther apart as they go up. The left one, “New Hampshire, Naturally”, is a 10b, and the right one, “The Old Man Down the Road”, is a 10a, though both climbs start out in the right crack. Aaron was going to lead the 10b, but after climbing the first six feet of the right crack (which turned out to be the only part of it that was even close to 10a), he checked out the left crack and decided it didn't look good. So he proceeded up jugs along the right crack. I decided to follow the left crack, and it felt like solid 10b, but it was pretty nice. The crux (for me) was cranking pretty hard on a fingerlock, but after that one move it eased up to a nice finger crack, followed by a nice hand crack, with a very short wide section that I was able to completely skip. Honestly, I would give this one a star or maybe two. Unfortunately, we took a bunch of time getting down, including a really sketchy downclimb and a bungled rap from a tree that required prussiking back up and ultimately leaving a bunch of webbing, when it turned out that we probably could have rapped from the top of the climb and swung left a ways. Grrr. So with the long hike in, and the unpleasant first climb, and all this mess, it was already getting dark, and we had no more time to climb anything else. We hiked most of the way back out by a full moon. Basically, this was the Chimichanga Epic, Part II.
