Climbing Gear Log

I bootied this from an off-route crack just to the right of the start of Selaginella in Yosemite Valley. It is in near-perfect condition, so I will certainly keep it, though I doubt I'll use it much. Shanjean had actually tried leading this crack initially, and had a lot of trouble with it... because it was definitely harder than the 5.7 hand crack she was supposed to be on. She eventually lowered off a red alien, and I tried it. I quickly realized it was off route, but I managed to downclimb, leap-frogging my pro below me, so that I didn't leave any gear behind. While I was at it, I even managed to pull out this hex. It came out quite easily (I didn't even have to use my nut tool) so I'd bet that someone else made the same mistake we did, and left behind this piece to lower off.
