Corinne dropped this from the first pitch of White Maiden's Walkaway at
Tahquitz. (Women...) Fortunately, it didn't hit Mike or Ken below us, and Mike
saw exactly where it landed, so he retrieved it easily. I have inspected it,
and other than one or two small dings, it seems fine.

I stupidly dropped this from the end of the first pitch of Dappled Mare at
Joshua Tree. We searched for it later, and just as I was about to give up the
search, Aaron found it. I've inspected it, and it seems okay.

This belay device is getting quite old and worn by now, and it might have just
finally bit the dust. For the last few years, I've been using it primarily in
the gym only (since acquiring an ATC Guide, which I actually don't like as
much, by the way). For a few weeks now I've noticed that on one side, where
the cable connects to the device, several strands of wire had broken and it
looked like the rest might go soon. Today, it finally broke. I might try to
fix it somewhow, since it's only the keeper cable, not anything life-critical.
Maybe, when I actually have some time....
