- Lucky Meteor straight-gate
- Bootied: Thursday, September 8, 2005
I bootied four biners and a sling from the pendulum point on pitch 19 of The
Nose. I have no idea why there was so much gear left behind there, but I saw
no reason to leave it. All the biners look old and well-used, but not too old.
I'll probably keep them and use them for racking and such. This particular one
was quite an enigma, at first, as I couldn't find any markings on it at all.
But then a friend of mine noticed that if you squint at it just right, all the
usual identifying marks and strength ratings are there. They're not engraved,
but rather just etched on the surface, so with some wear and tear, they are
barely visible.

Untrustworthy booty biners make for good slackline setups.
