- Homemade rope hook
- Purchased: Around Sunday, March 1, 2009
I made this after disassembling my broken Pika rope clipper and realizing how
simple its design was. It's constructed from a slice of a large-diameter piece
of PVC pipe (I bought just an end cap from Lowe's, instead of buying a whole
piece of pipe), inside a length of 1" tubular webbing, with a simple plastic
buckle on the ends and a loop for clipping it. It's probably not as strong as
the Metolius one (just as the Pika one wasn't), but it's larger, and it should
do the trick. If it breaks, I can make another one for basically free, with
just a bit of sewing.
