Being back in Los Angeles without a car, I tagged along with a few friends to
the Evolv outlet, instead of hitting the Five Ten outlet as I usually do. (It's
a good bit farther away... and quite frankly, lately the deals there haven't
been as great as in the past.) In addition to needing a new pair of cheap shoes
to wear in the gym, I was considering getting my first pair of actual
aggressive bouldering shoes. I didn't find a matching pair that fit the bill,
so I got a left Talon and a right Predator, for a mixed pair. Both are
significantly more aggressive than any other shoe I've owned. They're pretty
painful, but I can see using them for hard boulder problems now and then.
