Dark Reflection 2

The water in this shot, a very rare sight at Joshua Tree, is accumulated rainwater in the old Barker Dam Reservoir. This picture was taken about two or three weeks after a torrential (by desert standards) rainfall. In one week, Joshua Tree got more rain than it had gotten in the previous several years, and a local told us that this was the first time in about ten years that this reservoir had been so full. The water was pure black, and seemingly opaque, and it's remarkable that it reflected so clearly.
