King Swing Composition: The final swing

I pieced this composition together from several of the photos that Aaron's dad took of the King Swing pendulum. It shows Aaron as he lowers down the left side of Boot Flake to his lowest point, runs wildly across the face, and barely catches the corner on the other side, allowing him to pull himself around until he is finally standing on Eagle Ledge.

Once Aaron reached Eagle Ledge, he decided that he might need some more big gear to proceed up the crack above him, as it was pretty wide. I fished the #4 Camalot out of the top of the haul bag, clipped it to the haul line, and let it go zipping down to him, around the corner and out of sight. Aaron then proceeded up the crack, mostly aid climbing, until he reached the end of the pitch, which brought him to a height a little lower than the top of Boot Flake. In other words, the total progress for this pitch was to move us about sixty feet horizontally, but vertically, we actually lost several feet.
