Dawn, Day 2: Texas Flake

On the morning of our second day on the wall, we awoke with the sun, unfortunately a little later than we had meant to get up. We needed to get an early start, as we knew that this would be our longest day on the wall. So we quickly ate our breakfast of canned fruit and Clif bars, and started packing up the haul bags. I also spent a few minutes taking care of another morning ritual: I took my first wall dump. It was surprisingly easy and comfortable, and of course left me feeling refreshed and ready to start the day. (Too much information? Sorry. But I will say this: I'm glad I got it done early, before Aaron's dad had the telescope pointed at us!) Aaron also made his first "bottle rocket", but he let me be the guinea pig.

We quickly jumared up the line that we had fixed to the top of Texas Flake the night before. Aaron went first, and quickly hauled up the pigs, getting them to the top faster than I could follow. This photo shows the two of us standing on top of Texas Flake. Note how it's shaped like (surprise) Texas.
