This was fun, but there were two parties above us, so the climb was a traffic jam the whole way up. The climb itself was of excellent quality, though, and for once we would have made it up and back down quickly, well within our goal, if not for the crowds. Naturally, both of the parties above us were moving slower than we were (one was a couple from New York, the other was a guide and client.) Fortunately, most of the belay ledges were pretty roomy, and I “kept the pressure on” so the other parties would move quickly (i.e. I climbed right up their asses... usually I arrived at the belay just moments after, and in one case before, the guide's follower did.) Still, we spent a lot of our time waiting. In one case, Will Hobbs sat at a ledge for over two hours. I guess on the positive side I can say that all this waiting, coupled with the easy climbing, made for a nice casual, laid-back day.
