We were going to do Eagle Dance on this day, but it just didn't happen. After a LONG hike in and an equally long and much more HOT hike out, we decided to cruise up Johnny Vegas. It's a great route, easy and fun. (The Falcon guidebook calls this 5.7, but the SuperTopo calls it 5.6, which is probably on the money. Ironically, I usually agree more with the Falcon book at Red Rocks, because the SuperTopo usually rates things even softer, and I usually find the ratings at Red Rocks a bit soft to begin with.) Of course, I disagree with the R, as there was pretty good pro just about wherever you might want it. There were one or two sections where it was hard to come by, but the route was so juggy that you could sling horns all over the place. We rapped/downclimbed Solar Slab Gully, which is highly recommended over rapping this route.
